SNACK TIME
Due to our extended school day and our daily lunch being so early, we have a snack time each afternoon. I plan to use a "Community Snack" model. Instead of each child being responsible to bring in a snack for themselves daily, parents send in a snack for the class about once a month. Community Snack is optional. You are more than welcome to send a snack with your child each day, but please make sure they know what specifically is for their snack and where it is located in their backpack/lunchbox. Community Snack is both helpful to families and myself.
If you would like to participate, please follow the schedule below.
Beginning in September, send in a snack for approximately 20 children:
-within the FIRST two weeks of the month - students with last names A-K
-within the LAST two weeks of the month - students with last names L-Z
*For the last two weeks of August, I am going to ask anyone that is willing/able, please bring a contribution to your KRA appointment!
This schedule is FLEXIBLE:)! If for some reason you can't do it one month, forget, etc., it is NO problem.
Each day, we eat snack on the carpet while listening to a story, so all snacks need to be individually wrapped, must not need a utensil and not a drink (we have a drinking fountain). Please make sure snacks are healthy (no chips, cookies, candy) and can be kept in our snack closet (if it is for the class).
Some ideas for snacks:
